CAL TWOMEY<\/strong> is a singer-songwriter from Cork, Ireland currently based in Helsinki. Over the course of the last few years, Cal has made something of a name for himself on the Helsinki underground rock scene as singer and guitarist in Faraway Shapes.
\n.<\/div>\n
\u201cDuring a chance encounter at one of my acoustic gigs, I was introduced to Samuel Kaivola. He suggested that he and I record the songs I had played during my set in Lammaskallion Audio in Tuusula. I was really excited to take part, and had heard great things about Samuel\u2019s work with other projects, so I assembled a band comprised of friends from other bands in Helsinki I really admire. And so in September 2024, we went up and cut a record.<\/div>\n

\nI can happily say, after a lot of tweaking and fixes, it\u2019s finally ready. It would be lovely to have ye all along to celebrate it. Also, this is something of a farewell gig for this project, as myself and Alisa are going to be headed to Ireland this summer. This will be the last gig with this project in Helsinki for some time, so if you ever had any interest in seeing it but haven\u2019t yet, this is your last chance!\u201d<\/div>\n

\nLINENHEAD<\/strong> are a band from Helsinki, seamlessly blending Scandinavian melancholy and British and Irish folk tradition with Americana. Although starting out as a trio, the current live lineup consists of seven young musicians who play luminous and jangly but also at times dark and mystical indie folk and folkrock music. The group released its debut album Pot of Gold in the spring of 2024 with plans to release their sophomore in late 2026.<\/div>\n
