The Whistleblower<\/strong>
\nPriorly known from his work as the frontman and songwriter of Smokin\u2019 Aces as well as the producer\/mixing engineer\/guitarist for bands such as Hunters and Cobralife, Anthony Dawoud\u2019s impact on – and exit from – Finland\u2019s underground rock scene has left many yearning for new material and live shows.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
With a fresh new sound combining a lighter rock center that bends towards a variety of genres such as soul, folk, heartland rock and rhythm & blues, Anthony\u2019s latest act The Whistleblower is an exploration of new beats, melodies and stories all coming together in a tastefully dynamic and diverse live-set. The Whistleblower came out of the gate with a captivating first show at 2023\u2019s Kallio Block Party, and joined DIRT at their celebrated Halloween Special as the sole support act. The band’s anticipated debut EP is set to be released during spring 2024.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
The Whistleblower’s line-up is accompanied with some of Helsinki\u2019s finest musicians including Ben Ferreira (Bass), Tuukka Hanhiniemi (Drums), Ville Vainio (Guitar) and Joona Korpi (Keyboards).<\/div>\n

\nStadium-sized rock from Helsinki, Finland. That is the essence of Westway. Laced with pop-melodies, the bands energetic rock combines various styles in a show that will keep you singing along for the whole time. Westway released their debut EP Postcards in the summer of 2022 and their most recent single Anything at All came out on 9.2, an unapologetic statement piece which showcases the power and precision
\nof Westway. The band started 2024 supporting The Blanko and continued as one of the acts at Shiraz Lane & Friends event at Tiivist\u00e4m\u00f6.<\/div>\n

\nFaraway Shapes<\/strong>
\nFaraway Shapes are a Finnish\/Irish alternative rock band from Helsinki. Originally formed in 2022 as a blues rock trio named Quist Airlines, the lineup grew and the sound grew with it. Having cut their teeth on the underground scene in Helsinki, including an appearance at Kallio Block Party, they are currently recording a new EP that captures the new style. Now comprised of five members, the group still stays true to the DIY garage rock ethos it started with, but now incorporates elements of psychedelic rock, indie rock, pop and funk<\/div>\n
